Ads in the US
In the US, the free MyNutriGym app shows ads from Google AdMob. Unless you opt out, Google may use your phone's advertising ID, IP address and your activity in other apps to choose ads for you. Connecticut and other US state laws call this targeted advertising and may treat it as a sale of personal data. We never send Google your health data: no weight, measurements, meals, workouts or photos.
When you're in Washington, when you tell us you live there, or when the app can't tell which US state you're in, the app asks you first on a screen, and ads appear only if you allow them. Below, "in Washington" covers all three cases.
Opt out in the app
To opt out or change your mind, open You › Privacy & data › Your privacy choices and turn off personalized ads. Google then shows only ads chosen from the app and your approximate (city-level) location, not from your activity elsewhere. In Washington, turning ads off means the app sends Google no ad request at all. You can turn app usage analytics off on the same screen. It takes effect at once.
Opt out without the app
Or email privacy@mynutrigym.com with the subject "Opt out of targeted ads" and the email address of your MyNutriGym account. We apply your opt-out to your account on every phone where you sign in. You don't need to prove who you are or create an account. If you use the app without an account, we can't link an email to your phone, so please use the setting in the app.
Someone acting for you
Someone you authorize can send this request for you. We may ask for proof that you authorized them.
Global Privacy Control
This website honours Global Privacy Control: when your browser sends it, we treat it as an opt-out and don't load analytics. Phones don't send it to apps, so in the app please use the setting above. In the US outside Washington, choosing "Ask App Not to Track" on iPhone also counts as an opt-out, and so does deleting your advertising ID on Android.
When it takes effect
We act on opt-outs at once, and within 45 days at most. Opting out changes nothing else in the app. Premium removes ads. In Washington, if you don't allow ads, you see offers for MyNutriGym Premium in their place. They're built into the app: nothing goes to Google or any other advertising company.
If we refuse a request
If we refuse a request, we tell you why and how to appeal: reply to our email or write to privacy@mynutrigym.com with the subject "Appeal". We answer within 60 days. If we deny your appeal, you can complain to your state's attorney general; in Connecticut at dir.ct.gov/ag/complaint (choose "Consumer Data Privacy").
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
The app shows Google's consent message when you first open it, before any ad request and before any app usage analytics. Personalized ads need your consent there; without it, ads are chosen without a profile. App usage analytics runs only if you allow it. You can change your choices anytime in You › Privacy & data › Your privacy choices.
On iPhone
MyNutriGym asks Apple's permission before it can use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), and in Washington only after you allow ads. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", Google's ad tools don't receive the IDFA, and ads are chosen without an advertising identifier. To change your answer later, open your iPhone's Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
On Android
You can delete your advertising ID in your phone's Settings › Privacy › Ads. Ads are then chosen without an advertising identifier. You can also reset it there, which gives your phone a new one.
